Code of Conduct - Teaming up with factories

Snickers Workwear engages in a range of activities to promote and sustain fair labour practices, safe working conditions and environmental responsibility through our supply chain. We have long track records with most of our suppliers, building partnerships through dialogue, transparency and collaboration, and always with a view to continuous improvements.

Defining standards
Snickers Workwear is part of the Hultafors Group. The Group Code of Conduct (CoC) is based on established reference documents and communicates precisely how important responsible conduct is to our activities. It defines minimum requirements and standards that are non-negotiable for all parties involved in the production process – from suppliers of material and components that are used in our products to the sewing factories. The CoC is the foundation for our business relationships and the basis for how we conduct factory performance evaluations.

Monitoring for compliance
We acknowledge that it’s difficult to monitor compliance fully due to the complexity of the textile supply chain, which means that it is even more important for us to follow up and cooperate with our suppliers. Our dedicated Regional Operations Managers visit our factories regularly to assess compliance with our CoC, follow up on corrective actions from previous audits and help factories identify and find solutions to their challenges. We view these visits and remediation as the most valuable outcome of our monitoring efforts, since they give us the chance to build on the partnership with our suppliers and improve our work together.

Follow up
To obtain an initial picture of compliance, individual suppliers and factories may be requested to fill out self-assessment questionnaires in which they rate themselves in relation to demands set out in our compliance documents. We also perform workplace and environmental audits through third-party auditors, i.e. independent companies who verify that the company has fulfilled the requirements of the CoC and continues to meet the requirements on an ongoing basis.
